We are always looking for new ways to improve your experience, and this time we put our focus on how to make the payment process for our students be easier and involve more opportunities for student's to get the lessons they need.

How does it work?

The new payment system is super simple and it works on the basis of credits. These credits serve as 'tokens' for our student's to book lessons inside the platform. When you add money to your Credits you are essensially getting yourself tokens to book with lessons with whenever you want, isn't that great?
You can add your card information on My Account > Payment Methods and access your credits on My Account > Credits.

Can credits be returned to students as refund?

it is decided on a case-by-base basis.

What happens to the student payment if the tutor cancelled their Lesson 1?

For Lesson 1s, the refund is made automatically (when the tutor cancels a pending or confirmed lesson, or when they let the lesson request expire), but not via credits. We refund the student the possibility for them to book another Lesson 1 with another tutor.

If a student is in this situation, they should be able to see on their next Lesson 1 checkout that it will be for free.

Reminder: There are two fees with the new payout method. One applied on payments (what is called “processing fee”), that depends on the payment method used and the amount being paid, and on payouts, which depends on the type of bank transfer that will be performed. For Brazilian users via SWIFT, it is 5 USD.

All payments on Tutor.id are securely processed by AirWallex, our payment partner. Currently, only accepts credit cards like Visa and Mastercard .
